Ms. Frangou is the Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. (NYSE: NM) since August 2005. In addition, Ms. Frangou is the Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Navios Maritime Partners L.P. (NYSE: NMM), an affiliated limited partnership, since its inception in August 2007. Ms. Frangou is also Navios South American Logistics Inc.’s Chairwoman and a Member of the Board of Directors since its inception in December 2007.
The Navios Group controls a diversified fleet of 190 dry bulk, tankers and container vessels. The Group also includes Navios South American Logistics Inc., a logistics business consisting of a transshipment port/storage facility in Uruguay for grain and mineral commodities, a wet terminal in Paraguay and a barge and cabotage business for wet and dry products.
Ms. Frangou is also a Member of the Board of the United Kingdom Mutual Steam Ship Assurance Association (Bermuda) Limited. Since 2015, Ms. Frangou has been a Member of the Board of Trustees of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Ms. Frangou also acts as Vice Chairwoman of the China Classification Society Mediterranean Committee, and is a member of the International General Committee and of the Hellenic and Black Sea Committee of Bureau Veritas, and is also a member of the Greek Committee of Nippon Kaiji Kyokai. Ms. Frangou received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
